FAQ
Are natural treats good for dogs?
Natural dog treats are a great option for your dog! These types of treats are packed with wholesome ingredients. They provide essential nutrients and support your dog's health without the use of artificial additives or preservatives. When you choose natural treats for dogs, you're giving them a healthier, more natural snack.
What are natural dog treats?
Natural dog treats are made from whole, real ingredients without artificial flavours, colours, or preservatives. These treats can be single-ingredient or include a variety of proteins, fruits, and vegetables, offering your dog a nutritious and flavourful snack.
Are these natural treats good for dogs with allergies?
Yes, natural treats for dogs can be an excellent choice for dogs with allergies, as they often contain fewer allergens and additives compared to conventional treats. Look for all-natural dog treats that are free from common allergens, such as grains, dairy, or soy. The majority of our natural dog treats are made from fish or other novel proteins, which are hypoallergenic and less likely to cause allergic reactions.
Are these natural treats good for my dog's teeth?
Absolutely! Many natural dog chews, such as our Fish Skin Twists, can naturally help to clean your dog's teeth. Plus, some natural chews, like ours, are shaped to be more effective at helping to remove plaque and tartar buildup, promoting better dental health. Opting for natural dog chews made from quality ingredients ensures your dog gets the best care.
Is it OK to give natural treats to your dog every day?
Yes, it's generally safe to give natural treats to your dog every day, as long as you're mindful of portion sizes. Incorporating natural dog treats into your dog's routine can be a great way to reward good behaviour whilst supporting their health. Just ensure that the treats complement your dog's balanced diet and do not exceed 10% of their daily intake.
What age is safe to feed dogs fish skin jerky treats?
For the majority of our air-dried fish treats, we recommend that your puppy is at least 16 weeks of age before they consume the treat. This is mainly due to the size and durability of the treat. You can feed your puppy certain fish skin jerky treats, such as our Fish Skin Cubes and Fish Fingers Skins, from 12 weeks of age.
Are fish skin jery treats suitable for dogs with pancreatitis?
If your dog has pancreatitis, we highly recommend that you first seek advice from your veterinarian before introducing anything new into your dog's diet. It is important to note that fish is a high-quality protein and most or naturally low in fat, which can be essential in the diet for dogs with pancreatitis. For dogs with pancreatitis, we recommend our whitefish jerky treats as these only contain one ingredient and are 2.56% fat. However, please seek your veterinarian's advice first.
Is Skipper's fish skin jerky treats grain-free?
Yes, all of our fish skin jerky treats are grain-free. Plus, they only contain one ingredient.
Do fish skin jerky treats contain any nasties?
Our range of air-dried fish treats contains no additives, preservatives, colourings, flavourings, or E-numbers. Our fish skin jerky treats are natural and single-ingredient.
