FAQ
Why should I choose low-fat dog treats?
Low-fat dog treats are an excellent choice for maintaining a healthy weight and supporting overall cardiovascular health. By offering essential nutrients without excessive fat, these treats help prevent obesity and related health issues such as heart disease. Additionally, the lower fat content aids in managing calorie intake whilst still allowing for rewarding and training. Our low fat dog treats are made from high-quality whitefish, providing lean protein that satisfies without the added fat, making them perfect for daily use in a balanced diet.
Are these treats suitable for overweight dogs?
Our range of low fat dog treats is a fantastic option if your dog is overweight. All of our treats in this range are made from 100% whitefish. The majority of our treats only contain 2.56% fat. However, there are a couple of treats that are as low as 1% in fat and other treats only as high as 3%. Obesity in dogs is a continuous concern amongst vets. However, opting for treats that are low in fat helps you manage your dog's calorie intake whilst still providing them with an incredibly delicious and satisfying treat.
Can puppies eat low-fat treats?
Puppies can safely enjoy low-fat treats, but it's important to remember that their growing bodies require a variety of nutrients to develop properly. Whilst our low-fat treats are a healthy option for the occasional indulgence, they should not replace a well-rounded diet. Ensure that the primary food for your puppy is specifically formulated to meet the nutritional demands of their developmental stage, which includes higher levels of protein, fat, and essential vitamins and minerals. Using low-fat treats should be balanced with a nutrient-rich diet to support their growth, bone health, and overall well-being.
Does low-fat food help with digestion?
Low-fat treats can be easier on the digestive system, making them a good option for dogs with digestive sensitivities or those prone to pancreatitis, as they require less bile and pancreatic enzymes to break down fats.
